Hello all,

I was down at the Pt. Defiance boat house yesterday morning and off the fishing dock a juvenile Pigeon Guillemot was working a school of Herring. I've seen this out in the boat but this was a first from this angle. He had them all balled up right at the docks edge so everyone could watch from straight down. Pretty interesting seeing the whole school react as one as the the bird would try and pick off a fish. After perhaps 10 minutes the bird only managed to get one Herring and left the bait ball be.
Also, Friday morning I saw an osprey catch a salmon or cutthroat from the boat at the mouth of Chambers Creek bay.
