This morning a BROWN PELICAN cruised past the West Point Lighthouse
heading south. Around the beginning of July, a Brown Pelican was
reported up in Edmonds, then down on Vashon Island -- perhaps this is
the same one, or perhaps another is visiting the Sound. I watched it
continue south out of sight around 8:00am this morning.
Also visible off the point were:
Red-necked Phalarope - 12-15
Common Murre - 30-50
Heerman's Gulls - 5-10
Rhino Auklet ~ 5
Up along the edges of the south meadow, several groups of migrating
warblers were busy flitting around -- Mostly Orange-crowned Warblers,
with several Wilson's Warblers & a few Yellow Warblers mixed in.
