Hi Tweeters,

I left early from work, and on the way home couldn't
resist a trip on Frager Rd south of Meeker in Kent.
Just north of the Willis(Kent-Des Moines Rd) overpass
is where historically the Scrub Jays have been,
usually a pair hangs out there. I couldn't see them at
first but I heard them and heard what sounded like a
begging call. Then I saw 5 probably, 4 jays for sure.
I got scope views of one juvie who had a completely
gray back, the head was mostly molted into blue but
had some gray spots. The breast was very pale gray
with the feathers lacy where they went over the wings
when perched. I saw one adult carry food.

Directions: take Kent-Des Moines exit off I-5, go east
down the hill toward Kent at the big intersection on
the bottom of the hill turn left on Meeker, then a
fairly quick right onto Frager.
