Today there was a Townsend's Solitaire in University Place, at the Chambers Creek Properties. I found it (or, rather, it found me) on the hillside behind the Pierce County Environmental Services building. I had followed the chips of a Yellow-rumped Warbler, and was viewing it when the solitaire flew into a nearby tree, almost at eye level. It foraged nearby for only a few minutes, then headed south, toward Steilacoom.
