Greetings All

The Everett Sewage Treatment ponds were choked with waterfowl on Thursday. To
visit, one needs to go on a weekend, walk in the main office, and sign a
waiver. It is open 7:30 (or 8) to 3:30.

I had 150 minima Cackling and 40 taverneri Cackling Geese plus 1 G WF Goose
and a Snow Goose; very odd, since I'd never seen Cackling Geese there before,
and 29 November is definitely towards the end of their migration period.

Also, 50+ Canvasback and several hundred each of RN Duck and L Scaup. There
was probably nearly 1000 Ruddy Ducks. The marsh on your left as you pass the
gate headed towards the pond had 6 Cinnamon Teal.

Today, on Boe Road (s. of Stanwood, w. of Marine View Drive) Maynard Axelson
and I had a juv Reeve (Ruff, whatever.... is it still a Reeve if it hasn't yet
reached the age of consent?) in with about 50 Killdeer. The Reeve/Killdeer
were near where there is construction material was being stored. Several other
fields had Killdeer flocks, so I'd check the entire length of Boe Rd, from
Marine View Dr west.

At the Hayton Snow Goose Preserve on Fir Island there was an ad and a juv
Blue Geese with the hoards of Snow Geese.

Best Wishes
Steven Mlodinow
