Subject: [Tweeters] Cackling Goose distribution

I read recently in the Birds of North America account that Cackling
Geese are wintering farther north than they have historically, and
all the observations documented in tweeters this year seem to bear
that out. Part of our reason for knowing more about Cacklers is that
people are looking much more closely at goose flocks now than when
they were considered Canada Goose subspecies, but they also seem to
be becoming more common in Washington. Listserves such as tweeters
are great sources of the records that tell these stories!
