I walked my dog through at Marymoor's Dog Park on Sunday early afternoon. It was raining by then, but only breezy. All that I was were large birds as I was moving fairly fast between the rain drops. The first perched bird I saw was a dark outline - an Eagle? I changed my mind when he turned his head and the long beak of a GBH was very evident. I love to see GBH in trees.
The next perched bird was also silouetted. Long tail - C shaped or straight - I think it was a Cooper's. Very quietly sitting in the rain. ONe Black-capped Chickadee and 1 Song Sparrow.
There were 17 coots on the slough,1 male Hooded Merganser and 1male Gadwall. It was one of the rare times when there were more birds than dogs.
