I'll be going there on a VENT trip in February. I picked up a bird guide, Howell's "A Guide to the Birds of Mexico and N. Central America" that I thought would be good, but there are dozens of birds listed on the Central Panama VENT checklist that don't appear in the book. Is there a better guide? Any advice on how to deal with chiggers? Reply off-list; thank you!
