Buy Birds of Panama by Ridgely. Amazon has it.
Be prepared for REALLY HOT weather. It was
debilitating. You're dying by 11. Birds disappear.
90% of birds will be seen before noon. If there is an
option, skip birding between 11 and 4. Siestas are
the only rational thing to do. If your leaders are
fanatics, they will keep you out all day for those
extra few birds. My wife was exhausted, swore she'd
never bird again. We saw 400 species in 12 days.
