Hello Birders,

This morning about 9am I observed two Snow Buntings perched on the wooden
observation deck on Keystone Spit, central Whidbey Island.

Yesterday at Crocket Lake, also central Whidbey and adjacent to the Keystone
Spit, I observed three juvenile Tundra Swans standing in the lake. Not a
rarity, but unusual for this location.

Also on the Wanamaker Road side of the lagoon there have been six unusual
white-cheeked geese. These geese have very large white cheek patches. On one
of them, the white patch is large enough to cover the eye. My guess is some
type of hybrid Canada Goose. All I could manage is a distant scope view.

This year because of the decreased traffic due to the shutdown of the
Keystone Ferry this area has many fewer humans. It might be worth a look if
you are up this way.
