I think this quote from your goshawk website is quite telling:
"goshawks with an open mind--yours." You seem very quick to ID
accipiters as goshawks when a definitive ID may not be possible, which
makes me question your sightings. Perhaps if you wanted to see Cooper's
hawks as badly as you seem to want to see goshawks (to prove a point
that they are becoming more common in urban areas?), you might identify
them differently. Because you seem to have a strong bias towards
identifying accipiters as goshawks, I, as a scientist, would discount
your goshawk sightings unless they were accompanied by definitive
photographic evidence.

Interesting. In Tucson, everyone else just saw
Cooper's Hawks and a few Sharpies. He saw Goshawks.
None of the rest of us saw Goshawks in Tucson. We
only saw a few far from the city high in the
mountains.
