Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A well marked ARCTIC LOON is now being seen on Blind Slough at Brownsmead
east of Astoria. On December 7 a hybrid TUFTED DUCK was at John Day Dam.

On December 6 a LONG-TAILED DUCK was on Siletz Bay and a ROCK SANDPIPER was
at Depoe Bay. Over 200 CANVASBACK were on Meares Lake at Tillamook Bay
December 7. The only RED PHALAROPE reported was one at the Necanicum River
mouth December 4.

On December 5 a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER was at the Howell House on
Sauvie Island. About 3000 SNOW GEESE were on the island that day. On
December 12 two TRUMPETER SWANS were at Coon Point on Sauvie Island. Two
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS are now back at their North Portland Roost. A
female CASSIN?S FINCH was at a NW Portland feeder December 9. A VESPER
SPARROW was at a NE Portland feeder December 6.

Two MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES were on Marys Peak December 9. At least 17 TRUMPETER
SWANS are now back at Airlie, south of Monmouth. On December 8 a group of 8
TURKEY VULTURES were at the south end of Fern Ridge Reservoir. A ROSS?S
GOOSE was in Eugene December 8. A BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was at a Springfield
feeder December 6. On December 9 two MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES were at another
Springfield feeder.

Five COMMON REDPOLLS were south of Silver Lake December 7. On December 8 a
flock of 14 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was near Silver Lake. On December 9 a
LONG-TAILED DUCK was in Klamath Falls. On December 6-7 a SNOWY OWL was at
Prairie City. Over 100 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS are now in Enterprise.
