Hi Tweeters:
Re: Passenger ferry to Pt Townsend/bus ride to Ft Warden:
This is a great idea for birders! I'd be interested in doing this on a weekday
(weekends are booked up w/ CBC's) between Christmas and New Years. Are any birders
planning to go up there at that time? A "pelagic" trip we took during the Sept WOS
conference in 2005 yielded two Long-tailed Jaegers. So you never know what you might
see during a local trip on Puget Sound, and on up into the straits.
High tide would be best birding on the ferry ride or the visit to Ft Warden. But I
haven't checked the ferry website yet, or checked the tides. It looks like this
ferry would go right past Pt No Pt. Of course it won't slow down for better views
for the birders in the crowd.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that there is passenger only ferry service
between Seattle (Pier 50) and Port Townsend.?
Leaves? Seattle? 8:30am? 12:30pm, & 4:30pm
Leaves Port Townsend?? 10:30am,? 2:45pm? & 6:15pm
?trip one way is about 90 minutes
There is bus service at Port Townsend if you wanted to get out to Fort Warden

I believe this ferry service is only lasting until Jan 5, 2008.
