Dear Barry,

Take Farm-to-Market Road north from SR 20 in Skagit
County. Turn left (west) just south of the Edison
Liquor store, heading west onto Samish Island Road. A
few hundred meters west of this intersection, you will
come to the second of two gravel turnoffs on the right
north) side of the road. If you go to far, you will
cross the Samish River near its mouth, on a small
bridge. Instead, turn into that second right-hand
pullout. There is a small, whimsical sign, reading
something like "West Edison, Population 8," or some
tiny population figure like that. Park here. Look east
of the sign, and you will see a small section of steel
guardrail that has been spray-painted pink. The flock
has been in the bushes at the north end of this
guardrail.
