Well, it's actually nearer to Palm Springs.but I remember my dad taking me
to what has become the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, looking for a Vermillion
Flycatcher.to no avail. But it was a magical place with springs bubbling up
out of the floor of the valley, and the tension I always feel when I am
standing on top of some major earthquake potential (hence the springs).
