Carol Ledford and I birded the River "S" Unit at Ridgefield NWR (~4mi W
of I-5 at Exit 14 in SW Washington;
http://www.fws.gov/ridgefieldrefuges/ ).

Highlights:

All The Pretty Hawks:

DARK PHASE RED-TAILED HAWK (1)
HARLAN'S RED-TAILED HAWK (1)
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS (4)
Northern Harriers (1-M, Lots-F, Several-Juv)
Red-tailed Hawks (Dzns)

Saturday was a Wonderful day for Hawks, Red-tailed Hawks of many
plumages, juv and adults alike. All were seen in their previously
reported locations. SE grasslands alone, probably had 2 dozen hawks,
or more. Two different ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were again today allowing
cars to approach within 20 feet of their perches atop boundary or speed
limit signs. A few Red-tailed Hawks were similarly obliging.
