Since these seem to be so unusual here I thought it worth mentioning that
back in May 2003 several of us from Port Townsend saw a very pale merlin at
Penn Cove on Whidbey Island. It was very like the Richardson's Merlin
picture in Sibley, and way paler than any other merlin I have seen around
here.
