Hi Tweeters,

I just returned from the Olympia CBC count with Jim Pruske and Dave and Sherry Hayden. We were on a boat at a region called Lyle Point, just where Thurston and Pierce Counties meet, when Jim spotted a Yellow-billed Loon. We were able to observe it for 20 or so minutes, sometimes from as close as 50' away. We all got good looks at it and Jim was able to document it with several photos. He'll write up a report on it as well. It was a lifer for Sherry and only my second Yellow-billed Loon. Based on Sibley, it appeared to be a first year bird. Good birding,
