Subject: [Tweeters] Ruff continues on Boe Rd near Stanwood

Hi Tweeters,

I finally made it up to Boe Road south of Stanwood today to look for the
juvenile RuffHH that?s been present for over two weeks. I found it without
too much trouble, consorting with about 25 Killdeer in a muddy field south
of the road. There were also flocks of Dunlin and Black-bellied Plovers in
the area, and the Ruff was clearly associating with the Killdeer. They all
flew off to the east around 12:30; I lost them before they dropped down to
the ground again.

I stopped at a few places to look for sparrows, but the high winds were
keeping them under cover. My only other sighting of note was a single
Eurasian Collared-Dove on Calhoun Road, east of Beaver Marsh Road, just
north of Fir Island, where they?ve been reported several times over the past
few months. Despite forecasts for cold, wind, and rain, the weather was
quite pleasant - a great day to be out.

Good birding,

Matt Dufort
