hello tweets,

this is off-topic, but i thought that my birdie pals
would be most likely to appreciate a story like this.
a new paper was published recently that convincingly
argues that there are at least six species of giraffe,
instead of one, as previously thought. i think this is
interesting because it shows how scientists use modern
technology to identify species as well as providing
useful information for conservation organizations;

midwest ice storm that i am featuring as the "image of
