Thanks to all who posted about the ARCTIC LOON at Blind Slough, Brownsmead, OR. I came all the way from Georgia just to see it. Just kidding, I had to come out there anyway, but I owe you all a lifer. I had three false alarms with Pacific Loons (which are still pretty exciting to me), but I finally saw the real thing just before I had to race back to Portland to fly home. Thanks to the mystery woman in the red pickup who directed me to the boat house down the road (east) from the bridge. That's where I saw it, at about 3:00 pm.
