Hi All,

We went to the Cedar River mouth this afternoon to search for the reported Slaty-backed Gull, with no luck. After checking out the gulls that were there, we went to Duwamish Head and Alki to enjoy the unexpectedly nice late afternoon and find the normal wintering species. Following are links to images of three of the species.

Black Turnstone - http://www.tubbsphoto.com/-/tubbsphoto/detail.asp?photoID=5370954&cat=38978

Surfbird - http://www.tubbsphoto.com/-/tubbsphoto/detail.asp?photoID=5370955&cat=38978

The small group of Turnstones and Surfbirds on the rocks were all resting - very cooperative, unless you were after shots that included the bill...!
