Must be a different bird, and Oh Boy!! That means there "May" be a white jean in the local RTH population. Again, the bird I was looking at last year was all snow white except for her head. Even the neck was white. She was an absolutely stunning Hawk!
When my work permits, I'll be looking to see if I can find her.

Hi Clarence,

The one I'm thinking about is only about 1/3 white, but white enough I first thought it was a kite. There were some kites close to Mossyrock, but I haven't looked for them in a couple years. Another spot I was seeing them is along Gore Road from Leonard East.
There were juveniles, but I didn't confirm a nesting place. I live too far North for a decent investigation. Something is getting to those juvenile kites. I saw 18 one winter. Maybe the Great-horned Owls are to blame, but they'd be easy for an errant marksman.

Roger

I've not seen the one your talking about; Yet. I'll try and get a picture of her for posting. I about drove off the road last year when I saw the last year's white RTH. She was on Hwy 508 about Mile Post 15. Very stunning bird! I was just hoping nobody shot her. That area of Lewis County is very "anti bird of prey" when it comes to chickens and pigeon folks.
