Subject: [Tweeters] Lincoln's Sparrow, Cashmere

My strangest bird sighting of 2008: Last night, as we returned to the in-laws' house in Cashmere at about 9:00 PM, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW flushed from the honeysuckle thicket at the corner of the carport. It flew out along the Christmas lights under the soffit and then back into the thicket. I am assuming that it was taking advantage of the several degree difference in temperature provided by the lights (the thermometer read 16 degr. F).

The strange part is that it was a Lincoln's, which I am usually hard pressed to find here even in the spring or summer.
