Thanks to Wilson for alerting us about these birds. Today in rain/snow and wind I attempted to look for the Mt. Bluebird at Frenchman's Bar County Park on Lower River Road. I first stood behind the restroom building to get some shelter from the wind and sleet while looking over the volleyball courts which were empty of birds. After 10 mins. I had noticed some Junco and small birds way down stream along the Columbia River. I was just leaving the sheltered part of the restrooms when the Red-throated Loon came flying by heading up the river.

I walked down stream about 1000 ft. where I had seen the bird activity. At first I saw 60+ Juncos and then when I got really close a male Mt. Bluebird flew up from the ground and landed on a fire pit rim near one of the picnic tables.

I hope both birds hang around for the CBC, which is this coming Saturday.
