Greetings All, Hope your holidays are going well.

I made an end-of-the-year trek to my favorite birding corner of the urban world, the Hundred Acre Woods ( NE Lakewood, Pierce County) and it didn't disappoint. I got my second look ever at our GREAT HORNED OWL in only 4+ years of trying. The KESTREL and the resident RED TAIL HAWKS were present as well as lots and lots of RUBY CROWNED KINGLETS and YELLOW RUMPED WARBLERS. Most of the ducks were around as well as the ubiquitious PIED BILLED GREBES. Both JAYS and the rest of the usual cast rounded out the morning.

A great day between the little showers!

-Rolan
