In my experience, I've found that Racoons often spend the day high in a
tree, orten a crotch in a tree or a tangle of branches where the visibility
from the ground is poor, but the droppings give them away. Though I have
never noted them in a nest, it only makes sense that they would use large
birds' nests that would make it relatively hard to see them from the ground.
