Greetings Tweeters,
I finally decided feeling good enough to going birding.I made the CBC in Grays Harbor and didn't clunk out.So doing this area where you cover both side on the Airport and than to K Street and one side of the City of Hoquim.I missed Patrick so much, but despite Kathy Andrich and I made OK with 69 species and didn't doing the big marsh on Bowerman,as we should tried right in the morning for Warblers .I was kind of wary because it was kind of flooded, and I did not want to chance it in case there are some bad spots, not to go.Thank you Kathy for helping me,this is my first time I doing this with out Patrick. We left at 5AM and coming home at 7,30 PM.This is a fantastic area and we had some rare species. So next year I trying to ad one more birder to helping out.So know it is to far ahead, but good areas are hard to come by.

Today I took advantage of the sunshine and warm weather. This is an area what got well developed, but the builders leave a corridor for the Wetlands.Three years and last year 206 we had a Swamp Sparrow and got high count on Pine Siskin. This is one of the area we cover for the CBC in Tacoma. We was looking for the Swamp Sparrow, but it rain quite hard and we could not pish this bird out .My goal was to spend some time to looking for this bird.Close by there where quite few Song Sparrows there seem to coming out all together.I stood there at least 15 minutes as a small slender bird with some grayish breast and a whitish belly and some white on the shin, seeing the Song Sparrow close by it was easy to ID.This bird stayed few seconds, but been seeing this bird there before helped. After I pished for some time, the bird came out shortly seeing him even better.I drove home to getting my tapes.Comming back playing the tapes,he did not respond.
Other birds I saw near by :
Red-tailed Hawk (Adult)
Coopers Hawk ( juvenile)
Song Sparrow - 4
Ruby Crowned Kinglet - 2
Golden Crowned Kinglet - 1
White Crowned Sparrow -1
Golden Crowned Sparrow - 8
Towhee 2
Junco - 8
Lincoln Sparrow 1
Fox Sparrow - 5
Pine Siskin - 50 fly over
Virginia Rail - 1

Cheers,
