Hi Tweeters:

This afternoon a friend and I made another trip to the mouth of the Cedar River and were rewarded with great views of a 2nd year GLAUCOUS Gull, on a roof across the road from the restrooms & play area. We found the PALM WARBLER next, a life bird for me, moving through the trees along the edge of the river just beyond the restroom building.

The Slady-back was NOT present during our 3 hour visit and had not been seen by several others who had arrived earlier. The overall numbers were much lower today, perhaps because of the fireworks being used at the airport, but I was pleased to have a 6 gull day (Ring-billed, Herring, Thayer's, Western, Glaucous-winged and Glaucous, plus a couple of interesting hybrids).

Other species of interest included about 20 Greater White-fronted Geese along the opposite shore, over a hundred Western Grebes and a Peregrine Falcon perched on one of the nearby Boeing buildings.

Good Birding,
