Hi Tweets,

I thought I would share a back yard observation.

Since Monday, there has been a Sapsucker hanging out on the same young maple tree and the same spot on the tree. It comes in the morning and afternoon, and seems to just cling to the tree and rest. There is a few small holes near its resting site but nothing like a farm. There is also no cover around this tree. This is in the bird yard so I was wondering if it is using it as a safe spot to rest? The other birds certainly will give the alarm if a hawk comes by. I thought at first it may have been sick, but it flies off to throw moss off of the large maple and seems very quick and active. I checked last night after dark to see if it used the tree at night and could not find it.
Any ideas?

I can see it perfectly from where I sit at my computer. I took pictures if anyone would like to see it.
