Greetings Tweeters,
I have been out on the Olympic Peninsula the past couple of days. Though
not a birding trip, I did stop by Klalaloch on Wednesday. The gull flock
was rather small at the mouth a Klaloloch Creek in the AM and contained GW,
Western, Thayers (1), Herring, California, and Mew Gulls. At Beach 4, North
of Klalaloch there was a first year Glaucous Gull with a few GW and Western
Gulls at the mouth of the small creek below the overlook there. Last
Saturday there was a Canvasback at Crocker Lake, along Highway 101 on the
east side of the peninsula. There is a large number of Ring-necked Ducks
here along with several other waterbird species.
Cheers... Bill
