I've purchased optics from all three local shops (Audubon, Captains and
Anacortes Telescope). They are all good. Years ago Captain had the best
selection and by far the most opinions. They also had, and have, a full
optics bench, and several times have checked my gear after some mishap or
other. It's true that Audubon until recently had a relatively slim
selection, but Russ has expanded it considerably. Russ is also excellent to
work with, and his prices when I last checked (around the holidays) were
very good.
