Subject: [Tweeters] Spring is in the air

This morning the mountain quail were calling just as the day was getting
bright enough to see all that fog out there. There were two males not too
distant from the house calling out their territory. One pair (male/female)
were having one of their usual morning conversations that always sound so
quarrelsome. So I guess it's time to start putting out feed for them in
their usual feeding area. I'll let everyone on Tweeters know when the quail
have become regular in their visiting schedule so whomever wishes to make
the trek over here to see them can do so.

Yesterday two male Harlequin ducks were sparring at each other and
displaying for their mates out on Hood Canal at Menard's Landing county
park. This is the first I've seen Harlequins at this location. The Barrows
and Common Goldeneye males were putting on their best show also.

With tree frogs calling and birds singing and ducks showing off can spring
be far away?
