That is a very interesting message, with those photos of local Salamanders! I have hardly ever come across one.

Many years ago, when I was taking a biology class at WWU, I went on a class field trip to Lake Padden Park in the south Bellingham area. Someone in our group came across a small brown Salamander with a rather blotched back in thick leaf litter on a hillside. But it was far from any surface water. It looks closest to the Northwest Salamander in the photos. It was small enough to fit into a man's hand.
