Padilla Bay Reserve is looking for volunteers to observe and capture
live video images transmitted from the March?s Point heron colony.
This site, near Anacortes, is thought to be the largest colony of
nesting great blue herons on the west coast with an estimated 500 to
700 nests. Last year a video camera was installed and visitors to the
Breazeale Interpretive Center were able to see live video of the
birds. This year we hope to get live images onto the Internet. We
also hope to capture and save video of nesting herons in all stages
from courtship to fledging. If you?d like to help please contact:
