Subject: [Tweeters] Rock Wren - Jefferson County

A few days ago Jesse Stewart and Dick Johnson found a Rock Wren at the south
end of Indian Island. Dick and I saw it again yesterday. It was on driftwood
on the shore of Oak Bay and was very cooperative, letting us come within a
few feet. To find it, take the road across the south end of Indian Island to
the end of the perimeter fence of the naval base, just before the causeway.
On the right is a small parking area in the trees, and a staircase down to
the marsh. Go straight out to the shore from there.

We also flushed a snipe from the marsh close by.
