Hi Tweets,

Barbara and I birded the Carnation Valley yesterday. We visited the fields near Carnation, finding Steller's Jays that mimicked Red-tailed Hawks. In Duvall's McCormick Park we clapped our hands and were answered by two Virginia Rails. We also visited the natural area at Moss Lake and the Carnation Marsh. At the Starbucks in Carnation the car thermometer read 71 degrees, a glorious mid-winter day for birding! 33 total species seen:

Great Blue Heron
Pied-billed Grebe
Trumpeter Swan [several near Carnation]
Canada Goose
American Wigeon
Gadwall
Mallard
Bufflehead
Hooded Merganser
