How does the contrast in plumage between male cinnamon and blue-winged teal
compare with that between Harlan's and Krider's red-tailed hawks (also rather
dramatic)? Is it that hard to imagine that this particular teal has
strikingly different color phases? Do we have good data regarding plumage
consistency between generations of teal?
