Seems this has been a better-than-average winter for overwintering
Heermann's Gulls in Clallam County. We had one back on the Sequim-Dungeness
CBC Dec 18 (near John Wayne Marina on Sequim Bay), and 'ol Bob B. had
another nearby (think it was Port Angeles harbor) later, in Jan. of this
year. They are definitely rare after Dec 1 or so, but it was worth noting
that several stayed late this year, I remember 3-4 in Sequim Bay in early
Dec.

I was unable to find the Iceland Gull back in late Jan at the Elwha River
mouth, but there was a good mix of 6 gull sp. there, including about 25
Thayer's.
