Great variety today around and about the Kent Ponds. Here is some of the highlights for me.

Boeing Ponds:
14 Northern Pintails
1 Green Heron
12 Ruddy Ducks

Kent Ponds:
1 Bald Eagle
1 Peregrine Falcon
1 Western Meadowlark
1 Mourning Dove
2 River Otters
2 Canvasback
1 Northern Pintail
possibly the Red-shouldered Hawk

The Eagle and the Falcon were perched close to each other just above the southern paved path. A pair of otters were splashing around the Kent Ponds. I watched them from the south tower.
As for the Red-shouldered Hawk, I will admit that I am not terribly familiar with them. This bird gave me a good show, it did not seem to have the usual Red-tail marks. The tail seemed a bit longer. So I can only count this as a maybe.

Riverview Pond (I am not sure about the name, on the otherside of the Green River if you cross the footbridge to the west):
11 Canvasbacks
1 Lesser Scaup
1 Fox Sparrow
7 Great Blue Herons
1 Ring-neck Duck

The Canvasbacks were spectacular! They are one of my very favorite ducks! The Herons were perched on various pilings. It looks like this place is really being cleaned up. Can anybody tell me the history of this pond and it's pilings? There is what looks like an old dock on one side. Kind of a mysterious looking place, spookier before it was cleaned up.
