Sorry for late reporting. I have been non-stop birding with friends from Virginia... We too saw the Falcated Duck in Eugene or just north of same (Saturday), the White-tailed Kite catching and eating yet another vole in the fields at Bottle Beach (Sunday). We did not find the Whooper Swan after checking every swan we were able to get to within scope range (Monday), and also did not see the Black-headed Gull at Point No Point (today--Tuesday). One other very interesting sighting was a Mountain Bluebird seen on the west end of the Brady Loop Rd on Sunday Feb 25th.
