Tweets,
The eider is still at Semiamoo. Today it was sitting by itself behind a flock of cormorants, on the dock that is located way to the right of the marina. We studied it well, poor light notwithstanding, and were able to get views from all sides after it entered the water for feeding and preening. The weather was miserable so we barely looked at anything else, and simply drove off after peeling off our wet top layers. There was lots of traffic on the way home, and my husband sarcastically said, "they must be coming back from seeing the eider." Myself, I was surprised to see 3 other birder vehicles up there.
