No one mentioned the option of getting the Tweeters mail in the digest form.
If you set the Tweeters subscription to digest form you get one e-mail a day
with all of the posts in that one e-mail. If people write the subject lines
well - i.e. write them in English, not in code, and give more than just a
bird species name, but a general area where the birds were sited, if it is a
noteworthy sighting, or give an idea of what the discussion is about if it
not about a rarer sighting, it is relatively easy to choose which posts
interest you and you can open and read only those. I only open a few of the
tweeters posts a day relating to subjects or species of special interest to
me seen in places where it is noteworthy to see that species. I can also
get an idea of trends of where what birds are being seen. For example,
without reading the text of the e-mails, but only the subject lines, I can
see that a number of Pine Grosbeaks are being seen in different parts of the
state this winter, a bird that makes it to Washington in noticeable numbers
only in rare winters.
