Greetings Tweeters,
I spent the morning ( 0745-1200) at Point no Point. The number of alcids
were down from recent weeks and none of the recent rarities were found, but
there is always something going on there. There were only about 6 Ancient
Murrelets, and 10+ Marbled Murrelets this time around, though a couple of
each were very cooperative. 2 male Eurasion WIdgeon were in a flock of 20
American Widgeon in the lagoon behind the lighthouse. By about noon the
current lines had dissipated and things were pretty dead. There were 6
Eared Grebes at Port Ludlow also.

As far as the weather goes it was not all that bad, though the wind was up
(est 15 - 25 mph). Either the end of the peninsula was spared (as seems to
be reflected in tonights satellite images), or I got in before the onset of
precipitation and heavier winds. Under todays conditions it is possible to
stand in the leeward side of the lighthouse and have pretty decent
(sheltered) viewing conditions at the point.
Cheers and good birding.
