My wife and I saw an Americah Robin at Lake Sammamish State Park today (1/6/06) that had white all over: large splotches or wholly white feathers on the breast, cheek, nape, rump, scapulars, wing coverts. We first noticed it when it flew, and my reaction was "Turnstone!?", because of the white on its back. Kate at first thought it had an encounter with white paint. The bird was in with a robin flock busy pulling worms in the main picnic area near the parking lot. I got an excellent picture, which I'll send to anyone who wants to see it if they send me an e-mail.
