Hello,
The whooper swan was heard coming into the night roost at Shadow Lake in
Snohomish the last weekend of December. I have heard many whooper swans
call, this bird was definately making that same call. Like the Trumpeter
sound, once you hear it, there is no doubt what you heard. The bird was
also seen by Mike Schwitters in late December and his ID was a whooper. I
concur that, at least this bird in Snohomish, was in fact a whooper swan.
