Subject: [Tweeters] dead owls sought for teaching - yes we have a permit

I neglected to mention on my previous request for dead owls to have
taxidermied for teaching that Camp Long does indeed have a permit to keep
bird specimens of species protected by the migratory bird act. So far I
have had one e-mail from one fellow Tweeter who wanted to make sure we
didn't get in trouble and one call this morning from a federal agent who
wanted to make sure we got a permit if we didn't have one. There are good
reasons that the posession of dead wild birds for display or for other
reasons is regulated and I wouldn't want people to get the idea that they
should have a stuffed owl too if it wasn't for a good purpose and without a
permit.
