i've been enjoying the snow (it's falling at the moment, and has been for
about two hours now)... that, and the feeders have been a frenzy of
activity the whole day... almost all of the normals (for my feeder) have
been here: chestnut-backed and black-capped chickadees, red-breasted
nuthatches, dark-eyed juncos, house finches (haven't seen my purple finch
male in days now), a singular stellar's jay, and several spotted towhees...
a single douglas squirrel stared me down, then left tracks on the roof
opposite my porch this morning...

i'd love to have sparrows join in the fun, but have to say they are few and
far between up on these feeders...

i'm singing in the snow, just singing in the snow, what a glorious feelin',
i'm happy again... :)

Isn't this snow just fantastic for seeing feeder birds? I can get 4 or 5
sparrow species in one bino view, including a White-throated in the company
of the usual Fox, GC and, Song Sparrows. We've had the WT for a week now
and a Lincoln's has been here since mid-Dec. And our first Varied Thrush.
6 Towhees, where 2 is our usual count. Snow? Bring it on!!
