Hi Tweets,

Today Randy Hill and I spent an enjoyable day birding several areas in
Adams and Grant Counties. We saw many of the regular winter birds in both
counties, but the bird of the day had to be a wintering Surf Scoter seen at
the Wanapum Dam Tailrace.
Other birds of note included a single Brown Creeper along Gillis Road, a
Long-eared Owl (sorry, the bird was on private property), Yellow-rumped
Warblers along Lower Crab Creek Road, a Merlin in Othello, and several
Prairie Falcons.
It was a cold day with the temperature never above 17 degrees and the bird
activity showed it with only 45 species in Adams County and 42 in Grant
County.

Cheers
