Hi Tweeters

I'm getting ready to fly home and sign off Tweeters. I want to say thanks to y'all from a recent southerner for all the hospitality and assistance from a host of local birders. We got to see the Gray-headed Junco thanks to Sandy Daniels' hospitality, another trip highlight along with the Whooper Swan on Saturday!

More recently we spent Sunday evening and Monday morning scoping from Point No Point. We saw quite a few Ancient Murrelets on Sunday but only one on Monday; also present were numbers of Marbled Murrelets, some Rhinocerous Auklets, Pigeon Guillemots, and Common Murres, and both days we saw the winter plumaged Thick-billed Murre. The Thick-billed Murre was distant on Sunday and flew into the rips fairly close to the lighthouse on Monday. We lost it quite a few times as it was diving rapidly and staying down a long time, but had great looks off and on until it swam off to the southeast. I did get one reasonable picture (and a lot of bad ones) of the bird.
